Dealers will not let you ‘test drive’ some cars already; e.g. high-performance Mustangs (Bullitt, GT350, GT500 and some GTs). The dealers know every teenage boy in town will want to ‘test drive’ these cars, with no intent or wherewithal to buy one. I’ve bought two Bullitts with only one test drive—of a garden-variety…

I’ve heard Japanese CEOs are dramatically underpaid compared to American and European CEOs (regardless of merit).  Is that true?

For an EV, I’d want double my commute mileage in range. A couple years ago, I had a rount-trip 85 mile commute; I wouldn’t have felt comfortable with less than 200 miles of electric power alone. As a (lapsed) private pilot, I always want lots of ‘reserves.’

I think ‘All-Road’ is a good compromise.  I rented an Edge Titanium with AWD while in Rhode Island for my son’s graduation from Navy OCS.  Driving back to the airport in show, we saw two locals spin out on the freeway; one minor and one nearly catastrophic (missed us by 50 feet).  Even with AWD the road felt dicey all…
