“If she had any brains she’d have conned them in a way she could actually sustain long-term.”
Lithium is a light metal that burns with extreme intensity and unpredictability; extinguishing gasoline is a piece of cake comparatively. And with a Tesla, your doors may not open and the handles may not extend so someone can let you out.
Why is that ‘sad?’ You do know idiots like this raise everyone’s premiums?
“As a pedestrian, I feel vastly safer around self driving cars because I trust the computers and sensors to react much faster than a human driver and not be distracted by a cell phone or a backseat full of screaming brats.”
... and if the Mounties catch you, they impound your car (seen it happen).
Understeer is when the front end hits the wall. Oversteer is when the backend hits the wall. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how much of the wall you take with you.
The new 5.0/302 is actually larger than 5 liters by 35cc:

I live in a state (California, home of CARB) where smog checks are required—do you know of any state with more stringent smog and safety requirements?--and have never heard of this being an issue at all. I don’t believe states keep track of recalls and work done; that’s up to the manufacturers. I’ve never been asked…
Dealers will not let you ‘test drive’ some cars already; e.g. high-performance Mustangs (Bullitt, GT350, GT500 and some GTs). The dealers know every teenage boy in town will want to ‘test drive’ these cars, with no intent or wherewithal to buy one. I’ve bought two Bullitts with only one test drive—of a garden-variety…
“My Cousin Vinny”
My mom’s Lincoln LS has that 3.9, and I never felt it was underpowered (and it’s heavier). Note my DD is a Bullitt, with up to 480HP, so I do know power.
Sheboygan is worse than Lordstown?
“A program like the TVA to fix the roads would be appreciated.”
“they don’t make them like they used to, right?”
I’ve heard Japanese CEOs are dramatically underpaid compared to American and European CEOs (regardless of merit). Is that true?
For an EV, I’d want double my commute mileage in range. A couple years ago, I had a rount-trip 85 mile commute; I wouldn’t have felt comfortable with less than 200 miles of electric power alone. As a (lapsed) private pilot, I always want lots of ‘reserves.’
I think ‘All-Road’ is a good compromise. I rented an Edge Titanium with AWD while in Rhode Island for my son’s graduation from Navy OCS. Driving back to the airport in show, we saw two locals spin out on the freeway; one minor and one nearly catastrophic (missed us by 50 feet). Even with AWD the road felt dicey all…
