“That being said, the UK is now Europe’s version of the US. You’ve begun to see a change where Parliament puts it’s constituents ahead of their party”

“Ford, meanwhile, told the media that it’s personally excited for its upcoming Mustang-inspired EV”

Does it have ‘Ludicrous’ Drive Mode?

The Ford 4.6L Modular is known for breaking timing chain tensioners, esp. if you use too-thick oil that takes too long to pressurize the tensioners at startup.

Gas routinely hits $4/gal here in California.  I’d say the mix is about 40% sedans/coupes and 60% SUVs and CUVs, and hasn’t changed much in the last few years.

“over exaggerated?”

Ha ... My first thought as well (but I own two British sports cars).

“I cringe every time I see a manufacturer use surveys to tout the reliability of their products.”

It’s an adage in the advertising industry that you never mention the competition when you’re on top. GM has to take cheap shots.

Star for correct use of ‘effect.’

So, you have a gross polluter?  You must be so proud.

“... probably was hyperlocal epehemera...”

California cops aren’t known for targeting ‘out-of-state’ drivers*; they have enough locals to target if they want to.

Track Mode gotta be even louder (owner’s manual warns ‘for track use only’).

My Bullitt Mustang has a ‘track mode’ setting for the adjustable exhaust.  I think the manual says something like ‘probably not legal ... you’ve been warned.’

I haven’t seen any smog-testing environments that are ‘controlled.’ Most are just a stall in a gas station or shop with lots of variance in ambient noise.

Guess my Bullitt will need another ‘exhaust mode:’ ILLEGAL

Well, if the profile fits ...

California requires BIENNIAL (every two years), not BIANNUAL (twice a year) smog checks, for older cars (new ones get a pass for 6 years).
