Say no more! I remember those utes running on the 80´s on the streets of my city. Yes, on the streets, for the farms Nissan/Datsun were the fauvorites.( cheaper than Toyotas)
My uncle had one and he drove it trough unpaved hill roads at 80 kph average. (4,000 m high) in the 70´s, almost a daily rally car.

I remember to be into a friend´s Jeep Compass and I was horrified about the products Jeep was poking on the tarmac. the noisy CVT, the poor interior ( 2007) etc etc. I learned to drive in a Jeep CJ 6, a real work horse, ugly but tough, without compromises. I hope those bad sons of cheapness are gone.

Oh yes, polish engineers did a lot of modifications, all the powertrain was from the older Fiat 1300, even they had the gear shifter on the steering column, the rear suspension (leaves) did come from the Syrena, so this Polski was not your regular Fiat, but it was FUN.
It is true, I did not post it but I remember polski did enough modifications to the car that Fiat did not agree to go alone with their brand without the “Polski” brand added.
