To be fair, I think you are close to the truth. As a driver of a Lada 2101, I got my pad brakes exhausted after 2 moths of driving in the water and mud ( Niño flood 1983), so I had to put a new set of brake pads . Lada s of that model have disc in front and drums rear.
Not really, they have very good brakes, but that car has 30 years+ and in a “wet” weather you can get damage in some of the brake fluid lines who run under the car.
I dont agree, those shoes are Brembosky, they can stop a Lada from 100 to 0 in 10".
