He dead yo.
He dead yo.
Weirdly enough, Courtney Barnett's music reminds me of the early Arctic Monkeys stuff. Maybe not sonically, but lyrically. She has a similar sort of ability to capture the emotion of the mundanities of life in a deeply literate, wry, and unpretentious way.
This album is so great. Gurdjieff's Daughter is the standout track amongst standout tracks for me right now. Although, I do agree with the idea that the album is a bit scattered, but I mean, it kind of has to be. After Once I Was An Eagle, the album which, in my opinion, was the fullest expression of Laura Marling's…
Glenn's the most bro dude on the show right now. I'd go to bat for him any day of the week in real life.
Fincher's commentary is great because A) he is such a master of his craft and he basically gives a movie directing seminar during his commentary and B) he gives less than zero fucks about anything and says whatever he wants and it's amazing.
That scene intercut with the deposition is Sorkin at his very best. The movie's dialogue is so good, so incredibly precise and memorable that me and my friends could probably have reproduced 90% of the screenplay after seeing it once, that scene especially.
This movie was one of the transformative movies of my film going experience. I remember Roger Evert saying the thrill that he felt walking out of Bonnie and Clyde because it was the first "great" film he saw as a critic, and I can't help but feel the same way because The Social Network is the first great film I saw…
“Story Inspired From A Rousing Tale By: Matthew Rhys.” is right up there with "based on melodies whistled by Garth Marenghi".
Shit yeah, I am completely ready to surrender my weekend to 13 episodes of Coach Taylor's adventures in the bayou.
"Meanwhile, Matthew Weiner furiously brings the Mad Men crew back together for emergency reshoots."
Some people may think it's silly to voice disagreements on a 16 year old album review, but you know what's sillier? Thinking that Burn Don't Freeze or Get Up "don't quite click." THOSE ARE THE BEST SONGS ON THE ALBUM.
The only real downside to having MacLachlan on this show is that he's kind of out of the running to headline an actual Marvel movie. He deserves to be a goddamned superhero.
This episode was probably one of my favorites so far, the biggest misstep being that the writers still think that any of us give a damn about the Iris/Barry romance.
Wait, but during the first scene when the weather wizard lighting bolted Joe's car, why didn't Barry just fight him then? He was in the car right behind them. Like, did Barry just watch the weather wizard drive away? Why didn't he just superspeed up to the car and punch the guy three times in the face super fast?
Rogelio/Michael is my new BrOTP 4 lyfe. Even though they both pronounce "GIF" like "JIF"
I dunno, in the interview they refer to Live Another Day in the past tense. Is it out on DVD now maybe?
"I'm looking for someone with the last name Zahm, first name Bea? 'Zahm, Bea'? Is there a 'Zahm, Bea' in the room?"
24 may be propagandistic, fascist, torture porn, but I'll give it one thing. I was never bored when watching it! And I've seen EVERY episode.
"He had seen me in this movie called Punch-Drunk Love, which is a Paul Thomas Anderson movie."
That sentence is the answer to every "Would you rather?" question.
