Tales. From. The. Borderlands. At a certain point I’m probably overselling it, but just remember it’s five episodes of roughly two hours each, so it’s not too hard to cram it in when you have time. I’m glad you grabbed it last month while it was under Twitch Prime and look forward to whenever you get to it.

Every time someone mentions a guide and FF9, I think of the official guide and its abominable push to check a website for more details and want to scream. And it came right after the best guide ever made, for Chrono Cross.

Remember all the talk of the mouth animation, the inside of the mouth stuff and all that to make it more realistic, and no one thinks this could possibly end about as well as old dubbed martial arts movies?

Pod Racing also had one of the great arcade setups, where you actually got to put your hands on some pod racer handles.

We did at least get Gamora’s relationship with Nebula, though, and that did give us some insight into why she would sell out HALF THE UNIVERSE for her rival and adopted sister.

The platformer roguelite/like isn’t for me, but the genre itself is fascinating to me for the reasons Clayton discusses above. The idea that you’re playing a game with unknown specifics but a generally knowable outline, of progression with failure constantly at your side, with heaping elements of random luck, means

“All that for a drop of blood.” Dude is tough as hell.

Now playing

Youth in Revolt isn’t a bad movie, but I sure don’t remember much about it except it was during Michael Cera’s heyday, as it were. What I do remember, as if I had watched it just yesterday, is... you know what. Just watch it.

It’s worth noting you can beat Until Dawn and get most of what there is to get out of it during the trial period for PlayStation Now.

It’s on Cable (I want to say POP) ALL THE TIME.

Did you read the article? It’s pretty even-handed in how the film’s premise is odious but it’s so ludicrous that it’s hard to really lambast the movie over it.

Sunday? Or Sunday. Sunday! SUNDAY!!!!

The Wii generation had some strange misses like that. Super Paper Mario wasn’t a bad idea - a mash-up of 2D Mario and Paper Mario - but it was visually dull and super boring to play.

Such a wonderful game. The linearity was never a problem to me because I felt like the game was very devoted to its characters and their journey. While it gave players less agency, it gave the story more impact.

I like the outline of This War of Mine but felt it was too punishing to really dig into. State of Decay was a better entry point into “survivors band together to try to make it.” Obviously This War of Mine is more concerned with commentary, but the first time my only real scavenger ran into a heavily fortified

Right. They throw the player in the deep end without any understanding about the game, which is mostly about creating advantageous spacing and match-ups to fire off special moves at a goalie 1 on 1. Luca is totally winnable, but not to a newbie.

Soon enough I’ll be playing The Witcher III thanks to a great NewEgg deal ($20 for the Complete Edition!), but until then for some reason I’ve been playing Fire Emblem Awakening again. Now to figure out how to bring the stragglers up to speed.

Maybe? If I did I KNOW I gave the “other person” time to talk, unlike all of TV and film.

I’ve never carried around and fake sipped from an empty coffee cup.

Air Ride is fascinating. I even owned it at one point. I remember how it was critically savaged for its take on acceleration, but it had charming level design, that open city battle mode, it was very interesting. Here’s hoping Nintendo revives it at some point.
