I’d feel more comfortable recommending Bravely Default if it didn’t have a nasty bit of artificial game lengthening it really, really didn’t need. But otherwise, yeah, super good.

Easter seems super fun until the house smells like eggs forever.
Poison in battle = okay
As I’ve said... elsewhere, I always liked Lyn as my introduction to Fire Emblem, and her inclusion makes me very happy indeed.
I had company so I was unfortunately unable to attend, but I’m back in the saddle again. Also next MK8o8 I’ll be seeing SYMPHONY OF THE GODDESSES, so it will be some time before I’m back on the WiiU nights, unfortunately.
Where is CAPTAIN TOAD?
I opened up a match in Splatoon 2 last night by completely destroying the opposition, and... connection cut. It seems to happen about once an hour so, and it’s disappointing. Salmon Run went better, at least.
I’ve queued up a night of high speed fun in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Monday, September 18th. Get on your bikes (only!) and ride at 9 Central/6 Pacific! The code to join is 5136-1758-3659.
The Fire Emblem Heroes gods are merciful. After a long summer of striking out with the Summer heroes, I was able to snag every…
I haven’t kept up much after Echoes - I thought Wasting Light was harsh and hookless, and I didn’t bother with the clear search for inspiration that was Sonic Highways - but I admit I like Grohl enough that I probably give his music more leeway than I probably should , so I’ll check this out anyway.
ABBA. I always thought they were saccharine and awful and everything wrong with pop music. I thought that until I saw my absolute favorite episode of Community, “Epidemiology”, and I found myself liking Dean Pelton’s music so much that I had to listen to it on my own. And yes, they still wrote some incredibly…
Obviously the show begs credulity but also it’s never really been designed to be 100% believable or plausible. Furthermore, the entire point of the episode is that Rick can save himself from being a pickle who can only open and shut his eyes and mouth into some sort of rodent/vegetable hybrid monstrosity with immense…
It ended when Phil Hartman did.
I didn’t know Billy Corgan, now going by his full name William Patrick Corgan, was coming out with a new album, so now I’m listening to “Aeronaut”, a piano and strings ballad from the upcoming album that is apparently heavy on acoustic guitar and piano. Which is fine by me, he’s made plenty of alternative rock since…
There are all sorts of controls I’d wish Netflix would give us. I like the Skip Intro option but would also like one before every epsiode, as sometimes I don’t want to see it but sometimes it IS a good mood-setting for the show. At least each first episode I queue in up a session should just play it.
I get that pre-orders sold out immediately thanks to bots and notification alerts that scoured the internet clean, but I don’t know why people immediately jumped to despair that a product still weeks from being on shelves sold out pre-orders online.
And I feel good about no car payments. Sheesh.
The main reason I bought my Switch in May was to secure one ahead of the holiday hassle. I’m glad to hear the SNES will be around more, and that the NES will be back, too, something Nintendo knew all along but likely didn’t want to say in the last few months for Reasons. I am supposed to ensure an SNES underneath a…
I believe it was mostly cocaine in 1986.
Yeah, weird how a company with its value tied almost entirely to its intellectual property rightfully protects it.
It’s a problem because it’s hard to know, at first, if a game is being unfair on purpose or by bad design, and if it’s too obvious, then the game is basically telling you what’s happening, and a smart player stops trying and dies as quickly as possible. But it’s also frustrating if you feel like you’re being cheated…
