Haven’t read the books, but still on the fence with this one. Special effects are excellent and the overall plot is intriguing, but some of the sub plot have my eyes rolling, as does some of the acting and dialogue. And why does the main Earth dude from the Cant look like his about to cry all the time? Still at least…

This is basically a retelling of the original 77 Star Wars. Only with gender swaps, race swaps and hand off to a younger generation of main character. Rey=Luke, Finn=Solo, Kylo=Vader, Han=Obi Wan(both die), Phasma=Fett, StarCrusher=DeathStar, BB8=R2D2 etc. Looks like they played it safe and we know J.J. likes to reuse…

Yeah, from what I am hearing it is just telling the same story of finding a Jedi to fight the Dark side like in the orignal. Just with gender and race swaps and a younger cast. Makes sense they would restarted a 10 billion dollar franchise off safety, by just retelling the same story.

Glad to see I am not the only one who thought that mothership was absurdly to big. Hell, they could put a cow catcher on the front and cut the Earth in half if they built up enough speed. Still, I enjoyed the first one as a popcorn flick, and this one looks to bring the same mindless fun. So I am in for the sequel.
