What’s more, independent/third party candidates have won congressional seats as well as governorships. It would serve as a much better platform than quixotic runs at the white house.

Except they never do anything with it. They never follow up with any serious runs at any other offices.

It’s a paradox, because by the time you have the money to travel in comfort, you don’t have the time. On the other hand, traveling when you can afford to not worry about the cost of day to day stuff is soooo much nicer.

My last vacation sold me on trains - went to Japan, and had the amazing experience of being able to just go to the station and hop on a train and go. It was comfortable, had amazing views, and when you take out the 2+hour inconvenience that airports add, I spent maybe the same amount of time with a lot less hassle …
