I mean, Walker took it to a run-off, despite being super-obviously crazy and unqualified. That example doesn’t give me any comfort at all.

It’s a weird mix of emotions. I fucking loathe the man, and can’t imagine anything worse than him winning the presidency again. But it’s amusing to watch the GOP, who clearly hate him too, dance on egg shells trying to get rid of him without pissing off the 36% of people that are full blown MAGA.
They are absolutely the dog that caught the car. And so is he. Pretty much 100% of his legal troubles are due to him being President. Maybe he calls that a “Witch Hunt,” or “politically motivated,” but he put that target on his own back.
Bad Trip was great in its own right but also the kind of dumb fun people wanted in a pandemic. It’s telling that everyone made money but its creative lead. This is why residual pay structures need to change.
versions being shown at the studio’s Burbank lot this week apparently have chunks of the ending blurred out, which is very amusing to imagine
I wish Netflix and other streamers embraced more short-form, big-swing, niche shows that cost little but really just go for it. I Think You Should Leave’s success hasn’t seemed to generate any like-minded series, unfortunately. Would love more of this. Especially for things that are designed to not outstay their…
I wonder how influential the WGA’s request was, given that it came so close to the vote (The linked Hollywood Reporter story notes that many shareholders would have already voted by the time the request was made). If anything, I would say maybe some shareholders used the strike as cover to vote against the…
“Hey you kids, stop running across my damn blades!”
I miss the message boards. Some of the smaller movies had the directors on them fielding questions.
Two of my favorite bits are the highly memed car ideas one and the “I shoulda had that” hamburger one. Both are low on shouting, and both put someone else in the weird role.
It’s so sad when someones racist internet rant can’t even pass the “opening paragraph of wikipedia article test”
What is Rather WRONG with you, if I may Rather ASK? 1984!!!
I think I know what he means. I work in consulting and switch projects every year or so. Every now and then, I get on a project full of people I like working with that have been a blast to be on - you trust everyone to get their work done and have your back if you need it and you go out after work and have a great…

I rate this comment one star (out of one)
Whatever their review weighting system is, it can’t possibly be worse than letting randos on the internet determine the score
Also it probably lands differently for Black audiences.
White Chicks was really stupid. It was also really funny, and Terry Crews stole every scene he was in.
I’d say White Chicks appeal doesn’t necessarily crossover with its Imdb rating. It’s a dumb funny (IMO) early 2000's comedy that has certain scenes that translate well for meme/social media culture.
Terry Crews isn’t the type who seems like he would trash talk his own work, but I think that he sees that movie as one that really helped to launch his career.
I’ll try and find the interview, but I think (citation needed) that he’s said it opened up the doors for him to do comedy work.
