I liked it. The story didn't totally work for me, but it was pretty fascinating to watch, the actors and style also being the highlights for me. I don't know what kind of hype you heard, but the gross-out factor ("people threw up at screenings!", etc.) was way exaggerated and a mischaracterization of the film. It

The first two didn't actually die on screen though, right? They were just mentioned and then their dead bodies showed up.

Their promo photo in the style of The Two Fridas makes even more sense now. Does this mean the sock monkey represents Kira saving them somehow with her vague powers?

I was honestly scared that Frontenac would shoot tentacles or something out of his body when Art went to check his pulse.

Krystal?

Beth, Katja, Cosima (? there was that moment a few seasons ago where it seemed like she died and saw a vision of Delphine, and Kira brought her back to life?), and in this episode, Helena (kind of) and the random babushka clone. Am I missing anyone else?

There's no way she and PT are going to get through the next episode without dying in some satisfying way right? If they survive I will BURN MY OWN HOUSE DOWN (a la the villagers).

I thought the new kid did a pretty good job of embodying how Helena carries herself, too, so it wasn't a problem for me. Also the mini-Shakira wig and the fact that she was stuffing her face with chocolates helped me buy into it.

The raaayn in Spaayyn folls mainly on tha plaayn

I hadn't thought of X-Men, but I totally see it now. For me, it's reminiscent of the beginning of Orphan Black, with both protagonists going into someone else's life and pretending to be them (with middling success), while also investigating a shadowy conspiracy. Also Harry Potter because of the big cast of

I'll be disappointed if Daniel O'Malley doesn't have much involvement in this, since world-building and coming up with interesting, diverse characters are his strengths. I'd love to see where he'd go with a TV show.

Took me a while to figure out the pun in this because manatees are pretty interesting-looking and I genuinely think a shirt with one on it could be cool.

I agree, I totally felt Alison's new vibe was like she was trying to channel Cosima (going to California, getting a tattoo, having "edgy" hair, wearing loose flowy clothing), which is kind of strange. I'm not sure if it was intentional or the writers just have one idea of what hippies are like.

I thought it was Art's nerdy looking bearded villain/partner(?) from last season, but I think that guy was Duko. Though his name did always made me think of Danny Zuko as well.

I thought Westmoreland suspected Susan/Mud were up to something suspicious and was trying to emotionally manipulate Mud (as it seems he's prone to do to people). But I was frustrated by Mud changing her mind five times and by how easily the assassination attempt failed. Come on Susan, you couldn't lock the door or

As ridiculous as that would be, it'd be worth it to see Kira also be like, "STICK IN BEBES!!!"

I liked the parallelism with previous events: Donnie's disastrous performance mirroring Alison falling off the stage during the musical (the poor Hendrixes can't seem to catch a break with the residents of Bailey Downs, but wasn't Alison's reputation kind of restored when she won the PTA election or whatever?), while

She was really funny on Spontaneanation improvising with Paul F. Tompkins and Lauren Lapkus as an Alison-esque mini-golf course employee. She also seems to be popping up at UCB shows now, so hopefully we'll get to see her in more comedic stuff?

Though I agree it's a bummer a big chunk of the original cast was missing, as touched on above, Paget Brewster and Keith David were great, funny additions to the cast.
