First, the extreme photoshopping is an insult to women everywhere as it suggests that this body is actually attainable. Which it is not. And second, it suggests that women who wear provocative clothes, swimwear, lingerie are more worthy of appreciation than those who do not.

I don’t get the explanation of dressing to ‘please’ yourself, when wearing ‘fashionable’ clothes is intentionally designed to provoke the public gaze. Talk about comparing apples to oranges. Saying something nasty to a person in anger doesn’t even come close to years of abusive behavior. Its like comparing stealing a candy bar to stealing a car.

I read the NYT piece yesterday and thought it quite thoughtful and enlightening. Ms O’Connor has been through a lot. I’m glad to see her at peace out the other side of a turbulent life.

I think this shows that everyone is fair game unless they are the ‘real’ royals - Queen and her children. Prince Michael was caught in a big scandal this week but I haven’t seen it much reported. He is the queen’s cousin.
