The more time trump spends trying to wiggle out of court dates and the like, the less time he has to do damage in other areas of his last 60 odd days (plus deduct a week or so for holiday festivities). The heat also needs to be turned up on the various complicit family members and friends.

If he is an ‘advisor’ is he not also a surrogate - speaking on behalf of the president? In any case, he should be charged with sedition or some other appropriate crime.

The better path might be that he spends the better part of the next four years waddling back and forth between appearances in court and his lawyers’ office. That should keep him extremely busy and out of the headlines. 

But you would need the generals etc to sign on wouldn’t you. They would be the ones directing the troops. I don’t get the feelings that the generals et al would be thrilled to command ground troops to side with this grifter - you know, all those losers.
