Am I completely mis-remembering that YouTube used to offer mobile livestreaming through the Google Hangouts app? So you could livestream something via Google Hangouts and link it to your YouTube account and have it show up on your stream?
Fortunately for me, my kids are 18 and 22, and it’s not relevant to me at this point. :-)
Absolutely. Also a less expensive option that filling your iPad with movie rentals from the iTunes store for that long car/plane ride.
This would be super useful on plane rides, particularly with small children.
Switching from text to instant live video intrigues me. Seems much more seamless than uploading a pre-recorded video or switching to Facetime and initiating a video chat that way.
Nah. It’s just one of those weird podcast situations that isn’t normally captured by a lot of podcast developers, so the fact that Downcast does it is really great. So, selfishly, it would be really helpful FOR ME if Siri was added. :-)
Honestly? The Figure 4 Online/Wrestling Observer website shows. I’m a big pro-graps and MMA fan.
The best solution I’ve been able to come up with is basically manually re-ordering all my various podcasts in a playlist set on continuous play, so when one ends, the next one automatically begins.
These days, I mainly use Siri in the car as my hands-free assistant while driving. Mostly sending and reading aloud iMessages and sometimes making a note or reminder.
I hope that the Downcast app people can take advantage of the Siri support and I can finally switch podcasts in my car hands-free using Downcast and Siri.
Sure, that’s entirely fair and I’m hopeful that Apple will open up Siri control to other apps, too. But it doesn’t change the fact that at the moment, one of the advantages of using iMessage on an iPhone rather than, say, Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp or whatever, is the ability to use it hands-free while driving.
iMessage has the advantage of being able to use Siri, which is a big deal on the iPhone in today’s distracted driving law society where you can’t use your smart phones while driving.
I’d rather have iMessage for PC, personally.
I’ll say this, too - probably the BEST SINGLE FEATURE that Tweetbot has is timeline sync: the ability to use Tweetbot on your iPhone and then pick up your iPad and have the app magically place you back exactly where you left off.
Yeah, the last time I switched back to Tweetbot due to what I thought were too many Twitter ads, Twitter was giving me one promoted tweet for every 10 or 12. And one day last week, I was scrolling my timeline in the morning after waking up, catching up on the overnight feed, and it was *literally* one promoted tweet…
Good piece. I’m a longtime Tweetbot user but I generally only use it these days when Twitter annoys me with too many ads. I hit that point last week when I was getting one promoted tweet every 8 organic tweets. But as great as Tweetbot is, the lack of support for basics like Twitter cards lessens the overall…
The movie didn’t work because it was dark. It didn’t work because it was crap.
Limitless not being renewed.
