Chance is an ally, chapter 31: if they'd had Mike say "I never made" instead of "I'll never make", it would conflict with BCS Mike (not seriously, but enough to itch, and a show this detail-oriented would feel compelled to paper it up). But as it stands it folds pretty neatly into the idea that Mike is still learning…
