You’re right. The rod end spacing would need to be slightly wider than the cylinder spacing to allow the pistons to lead/follow.

Huh. That’s true. I don’t really see a reason for needing the connecting rods to bend either. The geometry should all work out. 

It has a space large enough to fit elitist Porsche owner’s heads. A pleb will be able to fit with a helmet, no problem.
