I don't know, hopefully they are. It'd be awesome if it was like the terminator Cobra that had "390hp" but dyno'd at 390whp. I guess I just have to be patient and stop being pissy about it and see what happens.

Then you've seen my complaint is not about OHV on it's own, it's about the engine update as a whole. It's just so damn disappointing. Now this engine is going to be in every single GM high performance vehicle. Ugh. I really should have said that in my original post, I just want something new. Odds are the performance…
Maybe not less drivable for you, but for others yes.
Wow, neat site.
DOHC doesn't screw with the power curve. Torque comes from displacement and stroke, not the valvetrain. Find me a DOHC motor bigger than 5 liters that doesn't have a superb power curve.
Why do people swap these into other cars? Because they're cheap, available, and reliable. Nothing else. You're already ruining the weight and the weight distribution of the car. Corvettes already have an extremely low COG, probably even lower with the next generation, which means that a little extra weight is a non…
Parasitic loss is next to nothing for the added valvetrain components, I'm calling bullshit unless you're actually ready to calculate everything out.
That would be ideal, but it's probably not going to happen this early on. We're going to find lots of people complaining about their intake valves, and then maybe they will switch. You also mentioned additional cost, that especially applies to things like modding where working with direct injection is much harder than…
It's pretty much the exact same engine. Everything on it except for direct injection has already been done on the Vortec series (LS with iron block) for years. Direct injection blows because of intake valve carbon deposits.
I'm sure that GM would do tons of hard load testing to make sure it was reliable. I wouldn't doubt them honestly, there's pretty much nothing in the automotive world that is more reliable than their V8's.
Man, you're dumb. I never said it was a shitty engine, I said it sounded shitty. Learn to read.
I really struggle to like this car. I love McLaren, and contrary to most opinions I love how it looks. But it honestly seems more artificial than even the Nissan GT-R, there is just no soul to it at all. Even though the 458 is slower and probably not as good of a daily driver (hell yes I would DD a super car), there…
