My Head Is Shaped Like a Candy Corn (Hi Nolan!)

Do you think the culture has shifted that much? It’s a gamble. The Democrats have rolled the dice on this before and lost. See McGovern, George for historical context.

Definitely not a fan of echo chambers.  Group hugs, circular backpats, college jerkoff sessions, whatever you call it, it’s anathema to learning from others

No, that’s my chin.  Do you even know how faces work?

With bonus death threats!  Nothing says “I’m confident in my opinions and I am a well adjusted adult” like threatening people in a comments section.  AOC has some real white knights out there.  I’m sure she’s utterly disgusted by them.

You misunderstand. I’m not calling her stupid, she’s very obviously not, and I actually admire her energy and passion, even while I disagree with her politics, much the same way I feel about Bernie Sanders.

They want their way, and if you don’t agree with them, you’re a racist. That’s a childish bit of ridiculousness that is seemingly encouraged in some environments, but certainly not where adults are working.

The issue is that AOC thinks, after a lifetime of bathing in identity politics, that anyone who disagrees with her is a racist. She doesn’t posses the intellectual framework to see it otherwise, and it appears that you do not either, Jack.

Well folks, we’ve reached peak leftism. AOC accusing Nancy Pelosi of racism, then after realizing how isolated that’s going to make her, walked it back with the typical sorry not sorry non apology. Who ever thought that identity politics would ever come back to haunt the left?

In the House? That’s how it works everywhere. In every single human institution.  Newcomers want to push their way into power, old hands use the levers of said power to keep newcomers at bay.  Welcome to Human Beings Interacting 101.

Come out of the greys, friend.

Um, no, they didn’t.  You don’t know much about history, do you?  The imperial presidency has been a thing for 150+ years.

As are we all!

You people are good for a laugh. When you’re done hyperventilating and clutching your pearls, maybe you should go outside. Meet a friend out for a drink. Do something productive. You think you’re the first generation to face existential challenges, or discover nihilism. You’re wrong on both counts and should consider

So when Obama uses executive authority to get his pet projects done, it’s cool and good. When Trump does it (or any republican!) it’s a constitutional crisis. Got it. It’s almost like you believe that Democrats have the divine right to rule, and everybody else is just keeping the seat warm for them. I sure hope

Yup, she can be part of a caucus of 4.  Bonus points for pissing off the woman in charge.  That district in Queens/Bronx really hit a home run with her. First, she helps change tens of thousands of high paying jobs out of her district.  Next, she pisses off the most powerful woman in US politics, who can (and will!)

It’s because all the screaming about ‘concentration camps’ comes across as hysterical hyperbole.  Pelosi understands this, AOC doesn’t.

Another perspective on this phenomena, which I’m familiar with from being of a certain age and watching millenials come into the workplace is... guess what AOC and fellow travelers? Nancy Pelosi and her team have been in place for a loooooooooong time and know how things work in Congress. You come in with your fierce

So they did a check but got all the facts wrong except the presence of an orange?  phew, I feel much safer now

Yeah, i mean, you’re not wrong.  The whole thing with TSA after 9/11 is just security theater.

Huh. I was surprised at how simple it was, and how utterly unrelated to anything having anything to do with security it was. I did have a fed security clearance in the past, not sure if that makes a difference, but I dont remember seeing a place to put that on the application anyways.
