post Reagan the US has implemented every possible working conservative policy. The biggest and most successful of these (massive deregulation of the financial industry, and a public private partnership on health care) have been implemented by democratic presidents.
That is absolutely terrifying. Nobody should ever have to go through that. My thoughts are with the family.
Yup. We can all make jokes, but it’s really happening. This is how the Nazis were born.
Right, but the NRA doesn’t mean that everyone should have the right to defend themselves with guns - just white people. DUH!
They will say he deserved it because reasons. My guess? That he didn’t behave appropriately when ICE bust in his house. Also, he probably deserved it because he shoplifted a candy bar twenty years ago. Or he has unpaid parking tickets.
I’m just praying, praying, praying (besides for the guy’s complete recovery) that somebody got some video of all of these American citizens (including babies and children) being shot and then dragged from their homes illegally. I learned years ago at Greenpeace that video is what makes the difference between shocking…
I believe his daughter if she says her father didn’t own a gun.
I guarantee you that most of Trump’s fans do not have a single problem with this incident and will shrug it off as “shit happens.”
That is a perfect description of Paul Ryan!
Under what circumstances could they have thought going into a house with legal residents of the US was ICE business? Are people starting to report their neighbors because they are foreign born and then they don’t bother to look up the documentation at the office?
Go ahead. Kill people. This all helps convince the country that we need this, right?
“It’s a lie when they say he was holding a gun. He doesn’t even own a gun. They shot my dad. They shot him and I don’t know why.”
Whoever wrote that headline
He’s self-branded. He labeled himself as a “policy wonk” and by sheer repetition, people believed it over time. It’s the old “if you tell a lie often enough and keep repeating it, people start to believe it” deal.
Paul Ryan’s reputation as the Republican’s “serious policy guy” seems to be entirely based on the fact that he wears a nice suit and takes himself very seriously. Nothing he has ever done has shown any indication that he is actually capable of creating any kind of actionable policy. Look at this healthcare fiasco and…
You know, that is a sexist way of silencing someone, and is just as nefarious as when a guy tells a woman to go back to the kitchen.
I’ll have to respectfully disagree with you. I didn’t say “anyone can have a baby,” and I certainly didn’t suggest that being a mother can’t be a source of drive and passion. My comment, as well as that of Adrastra and others who have posted, has always been about knowledge, not motivation or passion or drive.
but do not discount the advocacy and work of mothers who wish to improve the lives of kids.
I mean why don’t they ask the moms of families who are in danger of watching loved ones get deported, or brutalized by police, or die from lack of access to healthcare since they’re asking moms. I mean, they only have four moms there and that is hardly a sufficient sample size to represent all the families right?
