I think it might be like the Cosby case where prosecutors knew they either wouldn’t get a guilty verdict or (in Cosby’s case) even if they got a guilty verdict it would likely be reversed on appeal but at least this way the fuckers have to go through the ordeal of a trial and in Cosby’s case at least some prison time.
