still who wants the constant attention of racer retards and punks all the time. Not this guy.

Whoever was driving that STI was pretty sub-par, that STI can do 0-60mph in 4.8 seconds.

I have driven both and the MB. The STI wins by a very large margin. I love the handling on my 911, but when I drove the STI for a few days I was on cloud 9. Nothing handles, grips and pushes like the STI. The Mitsubishi is also similar. The Audi and MB are nice and have lots to offer, but they're nothing like the STI.

"Sure, the Audi is more sophisticated and cheaper to run."

Even so, for less than the difference, you can get a dyno-tune from Cobb. Which bumps the HP to 350, and the torque somewhere north of 300.

Audis are for stuffy bedwetters anyway.

And then there's that VAG reliability... or lack thereof.

What other current cars would you consider good value for the money?

Having driven both, I'd take the Subaru. Sure, the Audi is more sophisticated and cheaper to run, but the Subaru will survive a direct tactical nuclear strike and that counts, believe me.

As a WRX owner, I can definitely attest to this. Although the 2015 WRX now utilizing a twin-scroll turbocharger and other changes seems to handle aggressive launches pretty well. As to how well over time is another question.

When you launch it perfectly the feeling is great, but you definitely cringe once the cabin

They bogged the launch. If you abuse the clutch and launch it hard like you need to it'll go sub-5 easily.

You could see how the STI bogged down at the launch because whoever was driving it didn't spool up the turbo. Had they held the revs up to at least 4k RPMS and launched it that way the outcome would have been much different.

Right? Maybe if you start it in third gear...

Seriously do American motor journalists lack access to video hardware or something?Virtually every video feature on this site is from a British magazine which is annoying since I don't come to Jalopnik for "local news". Now that I think about it, Motortrend is never featured on here. I wonder why?

Watched this yesterday. I still can't figure out how they thought a 5.6 0-60 for the STi would come off as legitimate....

I'd take the STI. Looking like an adult is overrated.

This one is funny, considering Volvo's current design philosophy. Also, Corvette is a car maker.
