A car should be able to withstand this for at least 20 years without any undercoat bullshit. If a car can’t do that, it shouldn’t be built.

I won’t buy an electric car until it’s my only choice. I buy cars so rarely though that I should be good for a while (I bought my first car in 2004, I haven’t bought a car since).

A nice 4 cylinder diesel (with the manual) Hilux would last forever and more, but for me at least, I need the 4WD version. Hiluxes are great trucks.

I know my dad used to swear by ford trucks (the I6 4x4 models) stating that they were unkillable, this was always true (he NEVER maintains his cars). However they’ve become complicated and can be a handful at times these days. Stay away from Ecoboost though and you should be ok.

I you have to undercoat it yearly, it is clearly prone to rust.

Every single one of you that bitches about sedans and hatchbacks not being sold (while you want one yourself) should buy these cars new.

On crash tests? Look at the IIHS ratings for full sized trucks, see how they do.
