And I absolutely agree with that. I’m not going to cry for this man. I will risk an assumption here, but he likely has the means to financially recover from this easier than most. My sympathy level will be relative to his personal loss, and since I don’t know the man, I have to guess and risk being completely

While this is true, my sympathy for a person who can spend $10,000 to send 14 people to a Caribbean island is substantially less than for somebody with twins getting evicted from their apartment.

Picture 30 guys in lab coats furiously scribbling notes on a clipboard as they watch a 2-year-old repeatedly drop the tumbler in a mall parking lot.

I mean, if my Jeep branded Yeti Tumbler is a “factory tested off-road product”, do I really care?

I would much rather live under an “extreme” left wing government than the fucking goddamned near-fascism that Trump and the Trump wing of the GOP represent.

Does WW2 count? or any of the resistance movements during WW2? Because I recall the anti-fascists kicking a LOT of fascist ass then.

In fact, up here in Canada, it never ceases to shock and appall me that you all don’t have maternity leave, let alone paternity. Up here we get a year and a half at about 70% wages (better companies top this up to a hundred percent pay), and you can split the time off between mom and dad however you see fit (some

In America, ANY CRITICISM OF ISRAEL AT ALL will be labeled “anti-Semitic”.

“What are Antifa’s successes?”

No they don’t. That is a right-wing idiot talking point. Any time Omar calls for the end of violence and killing of protesters in Palestine some Fox news talking head turns that into “She supports terrorism”.

What good would protesting effectively do when you just get kettled and drowned in pepper spray anyway? Standing Rock was pretty straight forward with their demands and they still got met with rubber bullets, dogs, pepper spray...

Occupy Wall Street failed because they were too dedicated to being reasonable and civil, and that got used against them. BLM and Antifa have shown they are not afraid to get a little bit forceful and bite back. That is the difference.

A radical shift to the left is relative; the mainline Democratic party is right of centrist in most other Western countries, so the Squad and similar are generally centrist outside the US when you look at their actual policies.

She had 30,000 more votes than second place and (I acknowledge it is apples and oranges) 83,000 more votes cast in her favor than her upcoming republican challenger. This was never as close as the media wanted it to be or warned it would be.

Right. If she was VP and the President died, it skips over her and goes to the Speaker of the House, and that’s a calculus no party would risk.

Good for her!! The Democratic party needs to push away from their stance on Israel in general. It is not anti-semetic to call out war crimes and human rights violations.

Best put out an editorial basically saying that cutting 50% of her budget would make it impossible for the police to do anything other than answer 911 calls and investigate murders.”

You put people like her through the system, and they all become white supremacists, eventually. The system is irretrievably broken, and even when good people are placed into it, the broken system breaks them. There can be no good chiefs because the departments are fundamentally broken.

ACAB

So the city cut their budget by less than 1% and 100 cops and she quits in protest?
