It's not the turbos I'm worried about, though. It's the effect of all that heat on other components under the hood, especially plastic and rubber parts. I also wonder about the effect it'll eventually have on the hood's finish.

I wasn't thinking the engine so much as the rest of the car. Brakes, cockpit heat soak, clutch engagement, transmission smoothness etc. The LS is a monster in terms of repeatable power for sure, but a car is not just its engine.

Every time I read one of these articles on a new model plane debuting, I'm immediately dragged back to reality by the fact that I live in the US, where every major airline seems to be 20 years behind the times regarding their fleet.
