Thank you for this article, I’m gonna link it to my local horror festival. This sounds like a delicious addition to their lineup.

When you punch down so hard you hit yourself in the foot.
You missed the best one.
Good.
You joke, and yet...

I think it would be pretty easy, yeah. It’s primarily for playing DS/3DS games in HD, but also plays most Switch titles as a bonus feature.
There’s certain stuff like the tank minigame in Super Mario Party that requires tablets without controllers laid only the table and lined up. You couldn’t do that on a portable with fixed controls. It would play most games, but not have total compatibility, and with that you have to publicise that it only plays most…
The thing is that if they make a simplified portable-only Switch that doesn’t have detachable controllers and whatnot and looks more like a Vita or a GBA, then that also wouldn’t be able to play every single Switch game at full potential due to certain games like Snipperclips, 1-2-Switch and Super Mario Party having…
I do wonder about the cheaper model. If they’re cutting out features and such it’s probably going to be a more simple handheld that doesn’t work with the various accessories, including the dock or the detached controllers. Some games like Super Mario Party might not even work. Calling something like that a Switch…
It’s almost certainly because Ollie is gong to die during Crisis on Infinite Earths. That’s why there’s an abbreviated season, because the crossovers happen in the middle.
Ink ribbons are in Hardcore mode.
Wait, seriously? Why wouldn't you be able to just plug it into the TV?
“Annoyingly, like the SNES Classic, the PlayStation Classic won’t include an AC adaptor, with the only power option being a bundled USB cable.”
That’s a shame. Thanks for the link.
No, because I’ve seen people spout idiocy about how ‘this will never run on the Switch!’ all the time - but it’s never about something as advanced and complicated as FFXV. It’s always them somehow thinking that a game that ran on the 360 couldn’t run on the Switch despite the Switch being more powerful than the 360.
When they said 'not up to their standards', did they elaborate on what that meant? Was it just about visuals, or did they not specify?
The problem is the absolute core elements of the game most likely cannot run on the Switch, at least not at a playable framerate. It’s not just about graphics - it’s also due to things like the Switch’s CPU and RAM bandwidth being far below that of the current consoles that FFXV was designed around. You can’t just…
Not a chance. DOOM and WolfTNC run at 60fps on console, and the Switch versions had to slice those framerates entirely in half, and then still brutally hack away at the image quality to get them functioning. FFXV runs at 30fps on consoles (the normal ones, at least) already, so you’d either be looking at 10-15fps or…
Nice choices, though I'd also like to see a couple more Isaac representatives. Partly because of their unique abilities but also as vehicles to add some more of the huge number of item synergies.
