Well, actual exclusives are OK with me because a game tends to benefit from being designed around the capabilities and hardware of a single console. This is a pretty obvious case of timed exclusivity, meaning there are zero advantages and it just means people will have to wait for the superior versions.

I'm betting this is timed. Look at the wording: "Coming Holiday 2015, Exclusively on Xbox". As in, only exclusive for Holiday 2015. It will likely land on PS4/PC early 2016.

The dumb thing about this is that the mode IS 1080p. It provides a full 1920x1080 pixels for every frame and sends a 1080p signal. The drawback to it has nothing to do with the number of pixels, but rather that half of those pixels are estimated/taken from prior frames, and they work fine 90% of the time. I think it

Ugh, I really hope this isn't last-gen only forever. Not making ports for next-gen or even PC is really silly. I mean, I get that they want to both make a true next-gen AC game not held back by last-gen tech (Unity) whilst also not leaving last-gen gamers in the dirt - admirable, but that just requires Rogue to be

The whole thing was a joke from the start. Kickstarter altered their policies to be far more lax, and this was basically a way to poke fun at the possibilities. I'm pretty sure almost all the backers just threw in a few bucks because they thought the joke was funny. Once the money got huge I'm pretty sure the backers

Yeah man, look at him creating a fun event for people to attend and also feeding the hungry. Makes me sick.

I've heard that 35mm isn't quite THAT good. Like, good enough for a 4K scan, maybe 6K, but you won't really gain much from scanning it at 8K. Now, 8K scans of stuff like 65mm (as you said) or IMAX film are insanely detailed, even when downsampled to Blu-ray - stuff like 2001: A Space Odyssey or the IMAX scenes in

"Contridictory headcanon doesn't make what you're saying canon. It's just that, contridictory heacanon."

It is perfectly placed as a failsafe because it literally lives on the Citadel, you utter moron. And no, it does not increase the chances of it being discovered. It is a tens-of-millions-of-years-old AI that created Reapers far beyond anything the cycle has invented. It could have total behind-the-scenes control and

I mean exactly that Catalyst, which created the Citadel, lives right there on the Citadel, perfectly placed as a failsafe in case anything went wrong with the Keepers... and doesn't act as one, because, I dunno, reasons? (it's because when Casey and Mac banged out the ending they didn't think about things like

Also known as 'my entire point'. Literally the entire foundation of the Reaper story arc throughout the trilogy is that they needed access to the Citadel to open the Citadel Relay, but didn't have it due to the Keepers being tampered with, thus their only option was for Sovereign to gain direct physical access to it

Starting point: when the major arc of your trilogy is based entirely on a race having no access to a place, don't reveal that their leader was in that place all along.

The beauty of making a better ME Trilogy ending is that you don't have to do that, you just have to avoid gaping plot-holes one could drive the Destiny Ascension through.

Wow, Xbone and PC are insanely neck-and-neck.

"John Carmack, co-creator of Doom and current lead designer of the Oculus Rift, was once quoted as saying: "Story in a game is like a story in a porn movie; it's often expected to be there, but it's really not that important." What makes a game a game is the gameplay. Relatedly, if you haven't already, (all of) you

He should use the money to hold an open potato salad party (with local backers welcomed as VIPs) and stream the party with stream revenue going to charity.

It's from BioShock Infinite, and it's a fictional painting used by the racist zealots of Columbia (who are parodies of groups like the Tea Party). The real-life Tea Party stole this image and used it seriously, without knowing where it came from.

'Despite'? The position I've seen is largely "After years of nothing but 30fps on consoles, next-gen will finally bring back 30fps in the majority of ga- oh, dammit."

At least some games manage it. Ground Zeroes runs at an utterly perfect 1080p60, The Phantom Pain will hopefully do the same, and TLOU Remastered will

I just want all of the characters from the different worlds to meet up and fight alongside each other.

I'm betting on a full trailer and 2015 release date announced during TGS.
