I wonder how long it'll be before we get an actual Xbone Slim.

Quit moving the goalposts. This isn't about sales, it's about technology.

Big difference between 'sales' and 'Steam-esque' sales. I'm sure XBL does 20-50%-off deals and the like with better deals for Gold members - PSN does the same thing. But there's a difference between that and the kinds of sprawling sales with many titles at 75-80%-off like Steam does. That's what some think MS would

Some dumbasses really do think Steam-esque sales would have been the result. Because when a company puts paid subscriptions behind an additional paywall, never does huge sales on GFWL, etc, generous sales is exactly what you expect. Seriously, the original plans were based around swiping a cut from used game sales and

I would buy the crap out of Flower Killzone.

Killzone SF, AC4 with PS4-exclusive (for now) DLC, remastered Injustice Ultimate Edition, Resogun and Contrast for free, the FtP games, and also The Playroom. I'm happy with that for now.

Besides just looking better, one of the things I really love about HD remasters is that they can improve the framerates of the titles and make them run a lot better. The God of War games were originally 60fps but suffered frequent drops, with the HD versions being much more stable. MGS3's graphical upgrades resulted

Fair point. That said, I believe is is actually one example of a game that was partly screwed by lack of space - Mass Effect 2. The finished game is set up to let you go and recruit several crewmembers with the rest being unlocked after the Horizon mission. Apparently, however, the original plan had every crewmember

KH3 development won't really kick into gear until FFXV is done since it's being worked on by the same team. Nomura even said it was probably announced too early - the E3 trailer was pre-rendered since the game wasn't even ready to show basic in-engine gameplay, and the announcement was really just to reassure fans

So? Gameplay isn't literally everything. I like having pre-rendered cutscenes that don't look like shit, and better sound is still better whether it affects gameplay or not (and it's not just the multi-channel thing, it's the lack of compression). Also, I was reading something interesting earlier about how

Nope - it also allowed for uncompressed multi-channel sound and, in some cases I believe, uncompressed textures. There are multiple games with LPCM 5.1 surround sound on PS3 and 2.0 Dolby Digital on 360. And the extra space for cutscenes was really great in games like FF13 and Metal Gear Rising.

It will be an opt-in service. And by 'opt-in', I mean "Welcome to Xbox Live, please accept our Terms of Service Agreement or we won't let you do anything that requires Live".

I saw this when it was released during Gamescom. Here's a high-quality version - it's 1GB, but looks amazingly crisp and smooth.

Then it seems we mostly agree - I thought you were saying there wouldn't be any next-gen versions, period. Hopefully that's not the case - there's even some code found by hackers indicating PC/PS4 versions in the works. Still, it's a shame GTAV couldn't just get a same-time next-gen release with the same update

If this was the case then why would any company be making any cross-gen game? By your logic, Ubisoft is stupid for making AC4 and Watch_Dogs cross-gen, because they'll supposedly be losing money. The idea that R* wouldn't sell more games is ridiculous - there will be many people interested in the next-gen version of

You're overestimating the cost of a port. GTAV was already made on PCs, so a port to that would be relatively easy and sell nicely. And, following on from that, multiple sources have demonstrated that the x86 architecture used in the PS4 and the X1 (x86 is what PC uses) makes it REALLY easy to port a game from PC to

Many? No. My Vita's screen looks amazing, so does everyone elses. The splotches are invisible when anything's actually on the screen. OLED rules.

What? But he doesn't just do a 180, he turns all the way arou-OH. Still works.

1. Steam doesn't have a 24-hour check.
