New ones have a 12 year warranty and they basically fix anything that breaks. Worth the few extra bucks IMO.

Windows 8 sucks and even MS knows it. OSX sucks if a person likes to play the best PC games. That leaves Windows 7 the clear winner in my book. Tons of apps and games, solid UI, very stable, shares the same platform as most Win server OSes and better development tools.
If there is one fix, conflict resolution is it. The way we fight parallels the way we love and care about each other. The other advice I give is to use the words want and need appropriately and respond to those requests in an equally appropriate manner.
Fireplaces are a holdover from old designs that feature form over function. Good news is a person can cover up the fireplace with some 2x4s, plywood, quarter round and paint/wallpaper. This allows the TV to sit at a more appropriate 2-3' or so off the ground and gives a nice built in look for the TV.
Trust is becoming an issue for me. Web services are great but Google of late is reminding us of their massive downside. I love my Google and I am a paying customer, but feel a bit neglected as a power user lately including forced Google+ integration, removal of the + in searches which still stings even though ""…
Still too many great TV shows that are hard to find legally without waiting a year or more. This particularly sucks for hanging around the water cooler or yelling "no spoilers" at work lunches when everyone wants to talk about Game of Thrones from the night before. If streaming companies could lock in the latest hot…
I love lifehacker but this falls pretty close to stupid and is certainly some sort of motivational hooey.
Article is full of BS. 1 million in life insurance? That is a very hefty policy for most Americans. Life insurance is best purchased in two situations IMO. The first is to cover a family with a single primary source of income. The second is as a possible tax shelter. Neither of which should really be designed to setup…
Many modern washers have a clean cycle. Most use a cup of bleach. If clothes are still smelly, time to clean the drain area which is where most of the odor from a washing machine typically resides.
Total Commander is without a doubt any old school PC users haven. Fashioned after the old DOS Norton Commander, it has most of the same features in one easy to use package. Two file panes make shifting files around simple. Archive files are treated as directories making navigation and file manipulation a breeze. Also…
PotPlayer is written by the group as KMPlayer after it was sold and trashed.
Or save yourself a bunch of money and simply use a free alternative that does most things Office does and has pretty much all features a typical user needs.
We had this with some brown sugar on top at a BnB and it was fantastic. I don't like grapefruit but this technique cuts their strange tartness considerably.
How did Polk make it on the list and companies like Atlantic Technology, Aperion or Martin Logan did not? Nothing wrong with Polk but they are just another DE clone company these days and do not merit consideration here. At least the Energy speakers are on here and probably one of the best bang for buck speakers…
If a person needs a method that involves flashcards to learn to program, that person should probably quit before they start.
While I am pro certain gun rights, it isn't just one unfortunate event. There are dozens with latest being particularly tragic.
In addition to costing more to heat water, depending on the area in the US over half are under some form of routine water restrictions. Every year it gets more difficult to source fresh water as we are using it faster than it is replaced.
Music is certainly a personal preference but the lead singer has a whiny voice and it is a yawner of a song.
On most walls this works as well or better than most electronic finders even the higher end ones. It won't find wire and not as useful on metal studs but for most homeowners it works great. Two allows a person to line up a hole between a wall or ceiling.
Facebook shouldn't be on the list as it is mostly valued for its potential not actual profit and Netflix should remain off that list because of its multipliers. Not that a very high P/E is necessarily bad but it doesn't inspire confidence. FB got on there because of its non-business related standing but that is…
