As of when I last worked for a games retailer, you had a quotas on pre-orders, a quota on magazine subscriptions, and a quota on multi-item sales (customers purchasing more than just one item, hence a push on strat guides and etc).

You seem to have a lot of poop stories. I worked at a game store a while ago (as did my wife), but neither of us have poop stories. I fear for the town you live in.

I think the questioners point is that, while you may receive limited copies, other stores (walmart, kmart, target, best buy, hhgregg, amazon, etc) don't seem to be quite so limited. I side with this questioner. I stopped preordering long ago. When is the last time a newly released game was actually hard to find?
