First off, I've mentioned some of my previous "celeb" encounters with George R.R. Martin (STOP FUCKING ASKING WHEN HE IS GOING TO FINISH) and Bryan Cranston, cuz I'm cool and live in NM. But my favorite of all celeb encounters was when I was nine years old....

Oddly enough, my boyfriend does the same, EVEN THOUGH I SHOWED HIM THE INGREDIENTS LABEL. Obviously men are not cool enough to snack on the couch with the dogs.

I totally ate of a few of my cheesy doggy treats the other day. Main (and only!) ingredient? CHEESE. They were awesome.

I tease, I tease! However, there have been massive issues lately with our police force, so I may be a little on edge from that. It's actually pretty cool that in a city of this size, we have a fair amount of pretty good dining/eating.

Awww, now don't lay on ABQ so much. The Supper Truck is f'ing amazing. Their fried pickles give me hope. Also, I found a piece of plastic in my yogurt today. It had a foil lid. I should have sued.

Just an FYI, pediatricians take about 6 weeks of immunology in their 1st year of med school. Sooooooo, I betcha I still know more about development of the immune system because hey, that's what I do!

I saw all your replies up on that insane thread - you go girl. I can't get too involved though, I got novel immune genes to uncover!

5-6 months, not a year. (PhD, Immunology)

ZOMG I LOVE THIS. (P.S. I got them alllllllllllll right - THANK YOU IMMUNOLOGY COMPREHENSIVE EXAM!)

For the most part, I think the issue with getting 4-6 vaccinations at once is because it can often be so DAMN difficult for parents to get time off work/schedule an appointment to see a pediatrician because the American system is broken. I don't disagree that it would be perfectly acceptable to spread out vaccinations

Just repeating a previous post about vaccinations and why it is so goddamned important to get them!

I got chicken pox at 6 months old because someone at my daycare thought it would be good to expose kids to it....you know, so we wouldn't get "so sick." Spent 3 weeks in the NICU, nearly died. Hooray for idiots! VACCINATE YOUR KIDS PEOPLE, FOR ALL THE THINGS!

You ask a good question. Now, keep in mind I'm not a doctor, I'm an immunologist. I don't actually know if companies "finished" off the stocks of their vaccines that contained the stabilizers/preservatives, but because of a certain shelf life, even with additives, this certainly could not have last beyond 2-3 years at

Or, you could end up like me. I was told I had no wisdom teeth for years. But in reality, they were just growing out of my jaw sideways, so the x-rays didn't pick them up. So, get a good x-ray and really make sure. Because 3 hours of surgery (yes, they had to put me under) to break my jaw open to get them out

Nope, babies start making their own B cells around 5-6 months, so anything after that isn't used. This is why immunodeficiencies in children are almost always diagnosed at this age too.

Can we make a celebrity weiner-dog post? I knew Dita had some, but didn't know Rose Transformers chick did!

Totally! There is still stuff that sets me off more than others (I'm looking at you, scallops) but it's worth trying, but don't forget the Benadryl!

I was allergic to shellfish (not seriously - hives and a rash on my chest), and I did a sensitization process to be able to eat them. I started with one clam, one mussel, one small bite of crab cake, etc and then take a Benadryl 30 minutes later or so. I worked my way up slowly but reasonably - I'd try shellfish at
