Every day, friend.
Every day, friend.
Remember when Barack was President and we didn’t have to worry about who anyone was fucking and what porn they were watching?
To be fair to Hirsch, he did this back in 2015, when we didn’t know it was wrong to choke a woman out at a party and never apologize for it. Is it fair to judge historical figures by present-day standards?
I wish I still had your adorable naivete. Your office mates be fuckin’. You might not know. But there’s some fucking going down.
“Of all the blood-curdling images conjured up by Hereditary, the most traumatically terrifying new horror movie in ages, one sticks out as particularly definitive: Toni Collette, face twisted into a grotesque grimace of fear, staring . . . at . . . Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.”
I was so mad Syd held onto the hook after she pulled it out of the rabbit. Seriously, you don’t know the bunny was bait and you’re the catch of the day?
Glad to see the comments section hasn’t lost its fecundity on this one
That was a tumescent article, if not a bit engorged with extra fluff.
The *real* Valley of the Beyond was either inside us all along, or it’s the friends we made along the way. We’ll find out which one for sure in a deleted scene from the sixth timeline of season three.
It’s an absurd model. Pay people a living wage! I’m always shocked when I come over to the US. I pay standard tips because it’s practice, but that’s it. I always read the tip related articles because I don’t want to screw anyone over, but then I see comments like “well they fucked up and I got the wrong dish and…
Can we just drop tipping and make restaurant owners pay their employees a living wage? Build it into the price of the menu items. When people no longer show up because their Olive Garden meal costs too much then we can adjust or eat at home. Tipping that is expected is a ridiculous model.
I am going to watch this in my living room by myself because I’m one of those kids from the 70s who was basically raised by Mister Rogers and I can’t imagine watching something like this around other people.
Hey Dey, as the editor of the film I appreciate your comments, and I can tell you the film as released is identical to the version you saw at Sundance, save the IFC Films logo at the front and, ironically, there is a new credits sequence song!
Philip saying that Renee might be a spy is one of the cruelest things he could’ve done to his best friend, even if it was with good intentions.
To me it sounded like she was saying “You might have m—” and then stopped herself. I wondered if she was pondering whether Philip might’ve married Irina but then realized she didn’t want to go down that road.
And full credit to Keri Russell on how she played that train scene. Just the right amount of surprise and grief.
I am an unapologetic sucker for the first twenty years of U2 (Pop is a pretty good album with some of the best rock lyrics of all time, come at me) and “With or Without You” is one of my favorite songs, and yet it’s SO blatant that at first I questioned it’s use ... but then I got into it ... and then when they cut…
I got this momentary image of Paige staying in that safe house apartment forever, her life frozen, and decades from now, still drinking her vodka from the freezer, ending up looking for all the world like...Beloved Character Actress Margo Martindale.
“I would’ve worked in a factory.” [Pause] “Managed a factory.”
I saw this at Sundance and thought it was a lot better than a C. I found the direction more intimate and fly-on-the-wall than pedestrian, and I was impressed by how well the story avoided the pitfalls of hot-button storytelling by focusing on small human moments and matter-of-fact adult conversations. I especially…
