i suppose you're right... Still it was pretty traumatizing, especially the 1986 version. Though it's probably more seeing a stoned 11 year old Drew Barrymore than the film itself.

Oddly, I wasn't intending to have a pun there... Though I did catch it and decided to continue with the post, so I I guess that's just as bad (or good, depending on feelings towards puns) as if I'd meant it all along :P
My experience during lord of the rings was different and I don't recall anyone snickering about tree beard. It may have happened some, but not a significant portion of the audience did it.
A world in which science fiction stories are full of all different kinds of characters and species. Anything can be serious or silly, depending on how it is portrayed.
One thing I'm curious about. Some of these stories have multiple adaptations and variations.
I think the list was trying to stay away from outright horror movies, and films not actually intended for children.
I've been looking forward to this movie for quite some time. I'm glad RZA was finally able to make it. The cast is good, and likely had a whole lot of fun making it.
You have to balance the artistic roles, the money roles, and the fun roles. Every now and then, you're lucky and there's some overlap between them, but not always. This looks like it will only be in the third camp, as I doubt he's being paid all that much, at least not compared to other projects.
I haven't seen it in the better part of 20 years... I need to rectify that.
Not this time, though I think there are still rumors of that happening eventually.
It sure is. Apparently when he met RZA, they started talking about the 5 Deadly Venoms and got along really well, which at least partially led to him getting an important role.
Howard the duck didn't fail because it had a talking animal. It failed because it wasn't funny.
Spectacular was dropped because Sony lost the TV rights for the character back to Marvel. I do wish Marvel had just continued the show, but I understand why they didn't.
I want to see a cartoon about them too, but I'm also excited for the movie. It would be really nice if they could get a cartoon out soon enough so people know the characters before the film. But I don't think that's possible at this point.
They were done well in Avengers: earth's Mightiest Heroes. I know a cartoon isn't the same as a movie, but it does show they can do well off of the comic pages, so that's a huge plus to me.
My main excitement doesn't come as a comic fan, but as a space opera fan... It's been a while since we got a really good space opera film. This one could pull it off with the right team. And Marvel's been pretty well on point with that, so I'm excited.
He's around. He's called Major Victory now.
It needs to be Ray Winstone. Rocket is usually portrayed with a rough cockney voice. Winstone would be perfect.
I'm interested to find this out too. Though the one I'm really curious about is Adam Warlock. With Thanos being such a major part of the story, it would make sense to include him.
It's being worked on, but it's not far enough along to be announced, I guess.
