The first rule of tinder is be attractive. The second rule of tinder is to remember the first rule.
Is this $5/mo in addition to the Tinder Plus price? As someone in their 30's the cost for Tinder Plus is laughable but I could get down with $5 for the novelty of just “going” to different locations around the world and scouting out the talent.
Isn’t charging different amounts based on age pretty clear age discrimination? And doesn’t it just encourage users to lie about their age?
Bah, I don’t need Tinder Gold to see nobody swiped right
Letting a repairman in, not having to give a key to house cleaners/babysitters/dog walkers? Admittedly it’s not frequent but there are people - more than 0.0001% - who would like the convenience.
True, but remember security is a weakest-link kind of thing.
I suspect AMC’s real fear isn’t that people will suddenly realize movie ticket prices are too high, it’s that MoviePass will start a PopcornPass service.
$50-70 for a family in just tickets...I welcome MoviePass. AMC can suck a goat.
That’s the most believable explanation I’ve read so far. It’s strange to me though, the local cinemark has matinee shows for like $3.50 a ticket. What exactly does AMC think a movie ticket should be worth?
You mean it is different than Costco members buying discounted passes for $18/pair ($9 each) that we redeem for tickets worth $13 each?
Leave it to AMC to be upset that something might actually bring more people into their theaters, at no cost (and increased profit) to them. The only thing I can think is, they were on the cusp of doing their own version of this, and now we get these sour grapes.
I fail to see the problem. We go to maybe 1 or 2 movies per year. The ticket price simply isn’t worth being uncomfortable and maybe not liking the film. Spending $20, $30 if we get a soda, is much more reasonable than $40-$60. For those who do enjoy movie theaters, wouldn’t the theater rake in a ton of concessions?
That headline reads like something out of a movie trailer.
In a world...where moviegoers pay too much for tickets to see their favorite films, one man dreams of a better world. And theaters may not be able to stop him.
They called the new plan a “shaky and unsustainable program,” and showed concern that if MoviePass fails, consumers will be left with the impression movie tickets are overpriced.

Make a frittata on Sunday. Let cool. Split into daily portions and refrigerate. Put pre-measured portion in a travel container and take to work. Reheat in microwave there for <1 min, depending on microwave. Much simpler.*
I would think you could also sous vide and get similar results? Paging Claire.
You forgot the part where you sous-vide the ribs first. . .
I just did something like this yesterday. We have a ton of sour cherries on our trees this year and needed to do more things with them. I reduced 4 cups of cherries & juice down by more than half. Great flavor and I bet you could do it with many fruits
