Mental Note: Don’t be a foreign driver with a 2pt lead in the standings over a Frenchman come time of the Corsica rally.
Crazy, must have been it. It definitely wasn’t a 250 and it wasn’t a 600 either as I remember the bodywork. He was a pretty avid buyer/seller on the Bay Area riders forum back in the day so who knows what kind of stuff was done to bikes bought on there. Good new knowledge though, thanks!
I distinctly remember my friend having a kick start KLR, as I rode it a few times. It wasn’t a new one, so I’m assuming at some point, some or all KLR’s were kick start and some time in the last ten years they moved to electric?
The best thing about a KLR is when a thief tried to steal it they’d eventually snap their fibia from not knowing how to kick start a 4 stroke properly! Take that assholes!
Ditto on the watch dork front. I have a 1968 6145 Grand Seiko that yes, while having some dings to the case and some fair patina on the dial, looks better finished than most watches I see today. It’s amazing what Seiko can do when they put their minds to it and I feel like so many are missing out on a fantastic watch…
I see what you’re trying to say, and in part I agree with you. But the car analogy only goes half way for me. Yes, Zondas and Lambos and Koenigseggs are supposed to be zany and mental (the Richard Hammond argument), but there is still some element of beauty in the design, that still matters. You could do so much more…
Try some of the simpler Langes or Vacherons. I have a 34mm JLC Master Ultra Thin that might not tick the “ultra luxury” box because it’s in steel and not a precious metal (though the movement certainly qualifies), but it is a great example of refinement and restraint. This Richard Mille and Hublot stuff is complete…
Richard Mille is one of the worst things about the watch industry and whoever their designer is should have been fired ten times over. The one thing not listed on the watch’s attributes: restraint.
My first bike riding on the street after the MSF course was also an SV, a 2003 I got New Old Stock for a ridiculous bargain. My first realization after getting on compared to the CB125 from the course was the throttle response. Like holy shit I barely touched the gas and the thing just jumps.
I think you could say that a Porsche 935 Moby Dick or a 935 K3 is the Platonic Ideal of a Porsche for good measure!

I think I should clarify... You CAN view your lap time in an individual session, but there’s no area in the menu for “lap times” outside of a single track session. So what I meant was, the lap times not being saved once you exit isn’t a bug as there’s no menu option where you could even view them outside of a single…
Yeah I gave up on PC gaming right around the time raceroom came out. My system blew up and I pretty much said F it. I miss the mods. It’s the only way R Factor and GP Legends were really playable... And it made RBR way more interesting as well. It does suck missing out on things like... More than 8 locations (roughly)…
I have a full Fanatec CWB v 1.5 set up with V3 pedals and the SQ shifter. I grew up on GT Legends, GP Legends, and GTR 1 and 2. Just saying I know what I like and I’ve been around sim racing for awhile. Also PCars was a total disaster. That being said, without dedicated servers and the AI being a bit of a battering…
While Porsches are now in Assetto Corsa, it’s just a shame there really isn’t much to DO with them in the game... Especially if you own the console version. Looks like it’s another night of trying to set your personal best lap at Imola again which won’t be saved when you exit to try a new track so you have to keep…
It looks like we now know what all the expensive reshoots were for. It was to change the last line of, “The power we are dealing with here is” from ‘immeasurable’ to ‘awesome’!
You do realize I’m not the one who brought up people disliking Yeager right? That I was responding to it? Are you that dense? Do you also think Colin Kaepernick hates all military members because he is protesting? Do you tear up a little bit when “I’m proud to be an American” comes on? Do you think the immigrants are…
You missed the entire point of my responding to someone knocking Yeager for what others had to say about him didn’t you.
I think you’re forgetting how much Glenn’s fellow astronauts in the Mercury program thought he was an opportunistic camera loving god fearing phony that was ruining it all for the rest of them.
