Except that the good prof. fails entirely to make a case for liberal support of hard-right conservative who would overturn Brown v. Board of Ed. and doesn’t believe in the right to privacy. He just says the guy is smart. So, that’s why the editor should spike the piece - because it’s stupidly ridiculous.

But there are plenty of reasons to keep plastic straws around—like the fact that many disabled people rely on them to drink and alternatives like paper straws (which get soggy and fall apart) and metal straws (which don’t bend) may not fit the needs of every person with a disability.

But our sudden preoccupation with plastics straws and ocean waste has me thinking: Wait, HUH?? What is happening?

The business owner had every right to ask the woman to leave - and to call the cops once she refused to do so, since at that point she was trespassing.

Christ, I hate to have to say “both sides,” but I really, really appreciate you taking the time to point out that both sides of our current political spectrum deserve to be treated like human beings.
