If you’re worried about making the rent, your car payment, the heat, on and on, maybe working multiple jobs, not to mention that being poor makes your life in general more expensive, you probably don’t have the time or energy to break down the nutritional value of a Happy Meal.
Shitty food is cheaper than healthy food. If anyone wanted to solve the obesity crisis in this country, a good start would be to reverse the prices of ground beef and chicken. Also, eating is one of the very few pleasures people have if you’re dirt poor.
I’m on your side on every one of these issues and I’m a fairly well- known bike activist on Twitter. Cars are also cool, and I enjoy seeing rare and beautiful ones on Seinfeld’s show, as do many cyclists I know.
