I totally get this, this was my first impression as well. If you do want to keep playing, the key is to learn the activities that you like and stick to them. Ideally get a friend to play with. You can do “survival” shootout missions which are PvE which are good fun (and work solo). Sometimes you get invitations to

Don’t give in to it, it’s not reasonable at all. Components these days may not have a long “shelf” life per se, but they will last you for a long, long time. Enjoy your 900 series and all the fantastic games you get to play on it!

I can’t say I know this but I’m guessing that the game may have been “too hard” because they may have kept the difficulty balance the way it was set up for mouse & keyboard. Playing an FPS with a controller is a huge handicap.

Especially since it doesn’t have, you know, hooves

Pigs have hooves, this is a rat or some monstrous mole!

The music was so amazing. The last time I thought about these games was triggered by finding Jazz & Jack in Horizon: Zero Dawn. I wouldn’t mind a modern take on the franchise :)

The relevant Mr. Tolkien is alive and well. He also just gave up management of the Middle-Earth estate, and I agree that all the material, including the Silmarillion, includes a wealth of material. Stuff from the Silmarrillion would have a novelty factor for the millions of people who only know Middle-Earth through

I know right!! <3

I don’t get it. I played this game and it never ocurred to me that the protagonists color of skin had anything to do with anything. He’s just this dude. Care to elaborate?

EDIT a quick google search enlightened me. I did not notice major parts of the common complaints. I guess because the characters are straw figures

“but one of the 3 is used for TV only the ONE since everything so far has run better on the PC”

It’s just about your disposition to others in general. If you’ve been taught not to brag about stuff as a kid, you’re good to go. If not, then pointing out you can do / own / can afford / know something better can be a constant source of self-satisfaction. If you also lack to basic courtesy (or just empathy) to

“I was most excited to unlock an ability that gave me 20% more storage space for crafting resources, which should give you a sense of how cool the new abilities are overall.”

Booya!

Never heard of Bubsy (‘85 pc gamer) but I loved the video.

There two whole ages to set games in. You can go nuts - infiltrating Angband, battling Gothmog... Not sure if Tolkien is gonna hand out the Silmarillion rights though. Pretty sure that’s not happening.

Before Generals 2 they did C & C 4, which was conceived as a multiplayer mode for C&C3 (kinda like Sole Survivor was to C&C1 but not as a full release). C&C 4 was not only terrible but also ruined the story ever having a decent ending.

In the first Dead Space you didn’t build anything. You had some future power tools and mining tools (and the rifle)... I thought the gun building was pretty awesome in DS3, but the bad story and focus on action and COOP made the game weird. This is highlighted by the presence of a dodge roll - pretty much the exact

I want this.

Bloodborne! Probably some Divinity 1 (haven’t played!) and Cryptark as well. Game all Sunday... :)

I’ve only picked up console play for real with the ps2 during a high school exchange to the US myself. But I suppose you know what I mean with the “game sense” right? Just clicks faster? In any case, loved the article.
