It's the software that makes the difference. I have an dual SSD HDD combo in my MBP atm and I have to manage which files go on which drive. It's nice to think this can be accomplished with one drive and automatically without having to manage it all.

The problem is they changed the input without changing the interface. They can call it lightning all they want, but it's still USB 2.0. It doesn't make any sense to update the port, and not update the interface. Instead of there being the 30-pin usb 2.0 connection, and a 19 pin usb 3.0 cable there will be three when they eventually update to 3.0 or thunderbolt.
