The least the fool could have done is replaced the right taillight lens if he’s attempting to pass it off as “street legal”. It’s worth the price of the tires and wheels on the used market plus the scrap value at about $0.05 a pound. Being a Nissan the engine isn’t worth anything as a “spare” because generally

Not a Mercedes fan - but DEFINITELY not a Nissan Fan! Still better than it’s cousin the Mitsubishi -

The parts availability issue on limited production cutting edge vehicles will be a lot worse than for high production vehicles - and my common-as-dirt Ranger is off the road for lack of what WAS a $6 part 5 years ago - now not available at all from Ford or Mazda anywhere in North America. Finally found the little clip

Never be a competitor as long as it’s made by Nissan, sorry.

Darn right. The Fairmont/Zephyr/LTDII was such a BAD execution. The Granada was significantly better. I owned both for a VERY SHORT time. The Granada was a 302 2 door Ghia with white leather and looked sharp and rode/went OK. The LTDII was a joke in comparison. It fifn’t ride or handle worth a crap and it FELT like

If I didn’t have the Ranger on the driveway I’d be tempted, More tempted if it was the ‘75 fastback “baby ‘Stang” or even the ‘76 (the gearing wasn’t as good for fuel economy on the ‘76) or the original RA21 coupe. I drove the company MiniStang for a while and loved it and also drove Taisto’s rallye car a few times

Putting bun warmers in my Ranger was pretty easy but the old girl drew blood!!! The seat covers snap off and on with no hog rings but the seat pan is just rough punched with no de-burring so the edges are like razor blades. A bit of care was required - a bit more than I took on the first seat!!!

25 year old ranger 4.0 has been pretending it’s a Harley for the last year and I decided I have had enough. Just 23 “O” rings on the oil filter adapter. Sure - but to get to the single bolt holding it on the exhaust has to come down - and the 12 mm exhaust bolts are only 4mm in diameter. Then I snapped of a cobalt

A GT cruiser or ANY Nissan is going to be more expensive to maintain not to mention a Masa-ratty TC or a Buick Allante or a Lincoln truck.

It makes the front door short enough to work really well in parking lots and still allows access to the rear seat. The driver does not need to get out of his seat to allow access or egress to the rear seat. Front passenger having to get out or scrunch forward to allow rear passenger in is not as much of an issue. It

And they are only original once, so this car is worth more than a 100 point restoration. Nice car for going to car shows and cruise nights. It wasn’t a common model and comes from back when “the general” built reasonably reliable pedestrian ( no pun intended) cars. “I” wouldn’t pay that for it (or pretty much ANY

You can have that experience with a $100 Yugo or a $300 K car or a $1000 C3 Corvette

Scruffy old luxury cars shout one of 2 things - Has-Been or Wannabe

It would still be an expensive car if you could buy it for $500

Sooner or later the coolant light came on on those heaps regardless of the coolant level. The switch was “wonky”

Nothing smaller than a St Bernard is more like it. Unless it walks on 2 legs and  looks “human”

$1 000 or $2 000 in maintenance and repairs alone will (maybe) get it in and out of the garage once a month in nice weather. To put the average mileage that has been put on it per year over it’s life so far, count on about 5X that. About a buck and a half a mile plus fuel and insurance is CHEAP for a used Italian

Or much of anything else.

200000K is the new 100000 miles. Hardly a car sold in Canada that can’t hit 200000Km with regular maintenance. That said, once past 100000Km the price tends to be a BIT lower - particularly if 5 years old or more. (That’s when I usually buy)

The tranny “went south” on the way south - I’d put a new sensor in and drive it back to where they command a premium
