“Why offer cheaper cars when we can just offer longer loans for more expensive cars?”
US consumers: haven’t had a meaningful raise in decades.
Giving them the benefit of the doubt here: I bet they’re wanting a single standard across the whole US, not a state by state basis requiring different equipment depending on where the car is being sold.
The wrong side is the one that makes you look like a Captain Planet villain.
They’re limited to two standards already. Congress set this limit, under the Clean Air Act, to reflect the fact that California set emissions standards before the feds. Then they limited this to require any states wishing to adopt standards stronger than the federal standards to adopt California’s.
My “boo hoo” response is, if car companies don’t want to follow California’s regulations, don’t sell cars in California.
This makes no sense at all. Whoever heard of anyone getting slapped for going beyond expectations? If GM or Kia want to meet the Federal mandate, all they have to do is meet the California one. Other markets have stricter standards, so it’s not like they don’t already have the ability to do it. This is insane.
Boomer Corvette owner here. FFS, we don’t all have shitty taste in wheels. The general rule is if your car is old enough to have chrome bumpers and trim, chrome wheels are acceptable. Otherwise, they look ridiculous.
Sorry but Airlines are not the business hill I would choose to defend. Saying people shouldn’t book these tickets because they are taking away possible seats from other passengers is ridiculous in a business that regularly over-sells seats and punishes paying customers based on this practice. When airlines start…
Name is obviously Bronco II right? Needs an Eddie Bower option as well.

Top of my head, I can name four women who would be better Democratic nominees for president (and better presidents) than Hillary Clinton: Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Stacey Abrams, and Kirsten Gillibrand. Give me a few minutes and I’ll come up with more. Give me a few days and I’ll give you a spreadsheet. The…
Nah. McConnell and all the rest of those corrupt fuckers deserve to be called out.
This is by far the most common and short sighted argument that I see. Wringing hands worried about what the “other side” will think or do.
Revolutions aren’t generally polite.
If I told a Wall Street analyst there was a multi-million dollar tip inside a jar and filled it with high concentration sulfuric acid, they’d probably lose all four limbs reaching for it, forgetting about the acid about five minutes after losing each. It’s just mind boggling how short-sighted american business has…
Stand-your-ground self-defense laws generally don’t apply when the other party is fleeing. Also, the reports indicate that the theft occurred moments before she arrived, which means she couldn’t have been in the vehicle when the perp broke in. All of these things together — along with the video of her streaking across…
Trying to kill someone because they stole from you is not acceptable in any sense. She certainly deserves severe punishment.
Have you seen it in person? Because I have seen the concept in person, and it’s not small - it’s significantly taller than a minivan, and it might even be longer (interior looks bigger anyway).
