this is a very ethnocentric take

Also, it’s gross. Also, just because you don’t like them doesn’t mean you should kill and eat them.
Wow. A lot of you are no fun at all.
Raw or live? They really taste spectacular when you spread honey on your tongue and sit motionless for 6 hours to bait one into your open mouth. The frantic buzzing and dozens of stings as you chew them to death adds an indescribable umami and olfactory notes of cherrywood ash, toasted whole grains, and atrial…
Except for the billions of humans all over the world whose cultures have been eating bugs as food for thousands of years, sure.
Living the dream, man...
I am ‘sorta’ surprised by this - but there’s a second reason that isn’t being addressed. True that the popularity of their crossovers (ahem, SAVs lol) means less people wanting to come to Europe for the cars made over there.
The question is why people aren’t doing European Deliveries... They’re just bad at math....
We want to do the Volvo program if we get the chance. Heck, would go back to Belgium for an XC40 delivery if they offered that factory option, gorge on frites and beer.
14% off MSRP - that’s why people did European delivery. You could get a near invoice deal (~7% off) and another 7% off for picking it up at the factory and it didn’t even count against the dealer’s allocations. You had internet sales guys selling euro delivery M3s for $200 over invoice all day long.
Well fuck, this hurts. I spent a few hours in the Welt in December, grinning ear-to-ear the whole time. I watched the European Delivery process for a while from a balcony, and put it on the bucket list when financial priorities relax and allow me to blow some cash on a new BMW. Ugh.
This is sad. I did the BMW European Delivery on my 428i in 2014. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life to go 150+ mph legally. So sad.
This blows. Some back ground, with my first BMW, a Dakar Yellow Z3, I was the 5th person to take delivery in Spartanburg in 2000. What a great experience. My wife did the same a few years later in 330i.
I look forward to European customers taking advantage of an American delivery program for their BMW SUVs.
I’m surprised by this. I’m not a BMW guy, but it seems that the Porsche factory delivery program, along with several others, does quite nicely. I’ve always dreamed of doing it.
As long as the old folk have good insurance, why bother putting up expensive barriers.
It’s gotta stop any time now..... whoop whoop
It’s possible. That’s what investigators believe was the cause for a lot of the Toyota unintended acceleration accidents.
Can we pass a law. If anybody ever mixes up the gas/brake pedal, should have their license revoked for life no excuses.
I was in the passenger seat for one of these types. We just went into the guard rail instead of turning up and around the bend that went to the highway.
