I agree that things probably haven’t changed as much as we think. Many of these “trend stories” simply report on the most extreme examples of helicopter and free-range parenting, and imply that all parents fall into one of these camps.

The difference now, though, is that fewer kids are allowed to roam free these days. So if you allow your kid to roam free, know that they’ll be one of the few allowed to do so.
Wrong. Studies are pretty clear that the US is safer now for kids than ever. See, e.g., this article. (There are many more with a Google search).
Lol. My first thought was “well, at least he’s a real billionaire.”
Let’s be clear: Bubba had more than just a “wandering dick” - e.g., he settled with Paula Jones re: her allegations of sexual misconduct. And this fed into the “both sides are the same” nonsense, even though Trump has at least a baker’s dozen of allegations against him.
Yes, agreed. I also was in this same situation at 10 weeks (but chose the misoprostol), which is why this so-called pharmacist’s behavior - and the law that allows him to do this - really pissed me off. He will never have to experience this situation, and meanwhile gets to judge others from this comfortable position.…
No, she’s not the “same” as Hillary for two huge reasons. First, she hasn’t been attacked by the media and Rs for 30 years. Second, she doesn’t have the albatross otherwise known as Bill Clinton hanging around her neck.
I see your point about “ideal victims” and agree with it. One additional thing about miscarriages, however, is that there’s a dead embryo in your body that needs to come out. And, as the article notes, if your body doesn’t automatically flush it out, you must do one of two things - take the misoprostil, or get a D&C.…
I was making a joke about illiteracy, which apparently didn’t land.
Perhaps she couldn’t read it?
I don’t think that’s the narrative here.
Interestingly, almost all of my dad’s justifications for this president (and the republican party in general) involve the Kennedys. See, e.g., “What about Chappaquiddick?!” in response to any comment about how awful Trump and the republican party are for women (both personally and policy-wise).
Yes! This often happens with my parents - my dad is a very loud, knee-jerk right-wing Fox News-er, while my mom is a quieter and more moderate. Every time my dad launches into a fact-adverse tirade and I interject to correct his misstatements (note: I never start these “conversations”), my mother gets mad at me for…
Manslaughter? I just met her!
This makes zero sense. It costs money to separate children from their parents - you have to supervise, house and feed them, all of which costs taxpayers money (even if done in a shitty, horrific manner).
Dems aren’t talking impeachment because that’s unlikely to get them elected in 2018. If you want Dem policies, Dems need to get elected first. (Duh.)
Nope, not the same at all. Nice try.
You’re doing the Lord’s work right here.
Lotsa this too.
Are they married?
