Sports at this level are about money. Maybe the women bring in as much money as the men and therefore *deserve as much money. If so they should strike or hold out or whatever. But if not it's dumb to suggest they should get paid as much, because where does that money come from?

Of course it’s subjective. And generally players are paid based on the result of collective objectivity. That is why pro badminton players are paid less than pro tennis players. These people are communists.

Was not trying to say there isn’t a large disparity - exactly how large is not too important. I think the reason for more equal pay in tennis is that they bring in more equal revenue and the women bitched about it until they gave in.

I’m not going to get into this wormhole, but people like college sports because 1. the players are all younger/the same age (like the Kentucky Derby, which doesn’t feature the best racehorses, but rather the best 3-year-olds) and 2. the college affiliation.
