It’s possible his landlord is cool with his automotive antics due to him paying his rent on time. I’ve had two landlords that didn’t care what you did(save for turning their property into a drug den, meth house, or prostitution ring headquarters) as long as you paid the rent in full on time.

Mine won’t let you put it in gear of the key isn’t in the On position. Plus, you have to hit the lock button twice, then the autostart button for it to start.

I’m in my late 20's and I’m going through a similar process. My goal is a 240Z, and I’m planning on finding one with the I6 and stick shift, hopefully without a sun/moon roof, and hopefully not red.
