I lucked out on that one, but can see how without Trebek's emphasis on the word—as I think he usually stresses when speaking aloud—finding the word to unscramble becomes a somewhat random exercise.
I'm blaming a couple of misses on how the 'tawny tiara' clue got 'I Ran' playing in my head, and I couldn't even remember what color it referred to ('auburn hair and tawny eyes'…tawny…tawny?) … and then a few questions later the Janet Reno one made my stupid brain start looping 'My Sharona'.
