I’ve been reading articles where Trump voters talk about how this health care will screw them but then say they are not sorry for voting for Trump. This reminds me of that experiment that time when they gave a rat a choice between pushing a button to get food or pushing a button to activate electrodes in his brain…
He wants to gut the NIH, which is a powerhouse of funding for biological and medical research. It’s bad enough that the lingering effects of xenophobia is going to drive away talented international researchers, but if he does this, it’s basically game over for our country’s continued prosperity.
So this budget destroys jobs, ruins the environment by doing nothing, kills arts programs for poor kids, eliminates legal aid for poor defendants, kills public service opportunities for young Americans, and stops science in its tracks. It should be really popular!
There are a lot more men than women in the US military. You’re not suggesting those are raw numbers, right? Because if they are, that’s a pretty big difference in rates.

Sons and daughters need to be taught this.And to be fair, even folks on our side of the political spectrum believe that the key to stopping sexual assault is to just tell men to stop raping people when the issues are more complex than that.
No mandatory sexual education in high school then rape is a problem at colleges and naval academies? Who could have foreseen this happening? This will never see a serious remedy in our lifetimes. It starts with comprehensive sexual education, then teaching your sons that women are human beings, which requires fathers…
