Mark Halperin spent a year normalizing Donald Trump every damn day on their Bloomberg/MSNBC afternoon gabfest (since cancelled). Then once Trump was elected, he announces (on Colbert) “this is as bad as the Great Depression, WWII and 9/11 all in one.” Asshole.

Mark Halperin and John Heilemann

Women are the best. Everywhere in the world, men are scared of our power.

Considering the way that female audiences overwhelmingly respond to Ferrante’s boiling portrayal of womanhood, it seems a shame that the TV adaptation will be directed and co-written by men

That was my first reaction too, but apparently they’re all 28-33. Hollywood is so weird and has broken our brains.

I’m generally anti-stunt but I hope this stays. Even if the original meaning (which I think is good to promote—the power of women to balance greed with good), I’m all for having the imagery of a little girl standing up to an image of toxic masculinity (embodied by the rampant shiny-testicle’d bull) is a powerful one

When I read about it the concept sounded hokey to me. But now that I’ve seen it I feel that the sculpture of the girl is beautifully done, and its placement evocative and layered with meaning. This is art.

Lilo is ready to play her in the movie/show/play/webseries/pantomime, whatever!
