It's even funnier that people think that what works in one country must automatically work in another country that has different people, different culture, different laws, different history/heritage and different values. Because of course the criminals in one country are exactly the same as the criminals in another

Discount on fresh ground beef. Braised, not quite, but we have bruised for half off. Poor cows. Oh wait, they have leather hides. They probably are relatively okay physically.

Yeah, except you're wrong. On the other hand that is another right I really love too as you are entitled to your opinion. The part I take issue with: "No doubt that we have plenty of other issues that sit on the periphery - mental health, gangs, families, healthcare, education, religion and so forth" —- These

You aren't wrong, but I don't agree with you either. Maybe I'm wrong, but I enjoy Johnny Depp and his eccentricities. The accent sucked, but then again from what I recall of The Lone Ranger, I think that was one of the points. I can totally respect why you are tired of him though.

CoH: Very well thought out response and I agree it would be difficult, but I don't think it is impossible.

I could see room for both. It would be nice if each article started off with a basic description written by someone that understands how to bridge the 100% accurate version with a version that is approachable by the rest of the world and then have the detailed knowledge captured below it in a TLDR; format.

LOL. Thanks for the laugh. On the other hand, I wouldn't compare what we call pizza to anything from Italy or Greece.

It takes a long time for a product to be approved to go into space. They can't just send anything up there. That's why everything they use up there is a little outdated. LED lights have been around for years and NASA certainly doesn't care about the cost of the bulb... but they have to make sure that here aren't

I love everything about this watch except the watch face, which is kinda a big deal.

Challenge accepted. Send me two of them. One I will break immediately to prove that I can. The second one I will use and through the use and abuse of it traveling with me will break it as well. The first one will be far more fun and the second one will be far more informative of what it will take to break it.

It's a step...and at least it is a step in the citizens' direction.

I've lived right next to (as in a rock from my porch could hit a train) the train tracks. Currently I live a mile or so away. I can tell you, that even on sand, the vibrations aren't dampened that much. I can feel a train coming before I can hear it. PS: I live in the desert. Lots and lots of sand.

Good point. Capturing and passing on the recovered energy would be more difficult but not impossible. From a grid standpoint, stationary generators would probably make more sense, but that is a long ways from a certainty.

In that case I'd like to study Tribology. While I may not be able to participate, I think I could learn a lot from watching the interactions of two heavenly bodies rubbing against each other.

#corrections Is the title misleading? Is it really stealing energy as in the train has to put out more energy to compensate or is it really harvesting wasted energy... I read it as harvesting wasted energy (energy that goes into vibrating the track is harvested into usable energy instead of wasted vibrations.)

Yeah, this exactly.

You assume that there must be a "why" to why don't they evolve... the answer isn't a mechanism for why they didn't evolve, it is simply stated that they didn't have the opportunity. Evolution has been observed and documented for a long time. This doesn't mean that I think there isn't a creator... in which case you

How does one set their hair on fire while taking photographs? Flash powder flash bulbs?

You know how to tell a violin is out of tune? The bow is moving.
