Yet so many of these middle-aged and older fans married one of the first couple of ham-handed, gas-passing mood-killers MissEli mentioned, so they're essentially virgins to any other kind of sexual experience.

I prefer the far more evocative "Holy shit!"

Yes! Works great.

'Round these parts, it's referred to as "Whole Paycheck."

What's the deal with that dot?

Lotta wisdom comes outta that kid.

*claps faster* *rises to feet* *cheers*

Yeah—I never heard more nervous laughter than in a college class in Montana when the professor made a sheep-fucking joke …

This is beautifully put. Music, too. I remember the days before you could download any old song, or at least find it on YouTube, hunting through record store after record store and wondering if you'd dreamed up hearing it that once. I love the instant gratification of the internet as much as the next person, but

… And now I no longer regret never finishing it.

I had that, too! It horrified me, but I couldn't stop listening to it.

It made me start thinking about that question of all questions: why did they think straight boys would prefer watching a super-ripped guy with bulging muscles to a hot chick?

Yeah, it was pretty much all gold.

My college-aged brother liked to watch She-Ra with his much-younger sister (that'd be me), which kind of surprised me, since it was the ultimate in "girl cartoons" of the day. When I asked him why he liked it (and not He-Man, which I liked just as well), he replied, "Because she's a girl," and I thought, fair enough.

Had he but held her like he did on Naboo!

Oh, "Wendell Gee." What a lyric! *heads to YouTube to get lost in old REM songs*

I agree. It is grating, but if you can get past that and some of the cringy lyrics, it has moments of beauty I was always kinda able to dig. All the vocals are strident but hit the notes right on and make some beautiful harmonies. But boy, that video isn't doing it any favors.

"Milhouse, I'm not going to take dog doo that's been on the dirty ground and put it on my face!"
