That’s not true. The F-35 is already in the field and all the issues are software, and the F/A-18 advanced nonsense will have the same sort of software issues. The only thing that is tried and true is the airframe and engine, which are not an issue with the F-35.

Um, we have a larger, more advanced and more durable airforce than anyone on the planet. The 2nd largest airforce is the US navy.

Russian jets throw fan blades if you sneeze at them.

If they are launched then China have already committed to annihilating South Korea..... at which point hurting china’s feelings with THAAD might only matter to the Quislings here, but no one else!

We’re not putting all our eggs in the F-35 basket. We have Super Hornets, and they will be around for decades. We don’t have Silent Eagles, but our upgraded F-15Es have just about everything the the Silent Eagle does, minus the stealth tech, and every account I’ve read about that says that it’s basically worthless,

You were komrade..... you mentioned China’s “second strike capability”.

Target it with what?

Haha yeah, those damn defensive system are just so provocative! How dare South Korea try to build up defenses against an aggressive neighbor with nukes who threatens to use them constantly. Silly South Korea, country of 50 million, why aren’t you pandering to the 5,000 people who don’t want this system?

N Korea was created by China in 1953 and it has been threatening a rain of fire ever since. It also attacked S Korea multiple times. Not sure where you came up with the notion that the US or S Korea is the source of the problem here.

Yes of course.

There is little reason to be subscribed to this anymore.

Bulldog, while you are correct, it’s pointless trying to argue with snowflakes who have no historical perspective because they never learned history.

It’s a defensive weapons system, to protect the South Koreans (and Japanese) from nuclear weapons. Trying to appease the Kim dynasty is pointless.

If Kim decides to make an offensive move, South Korea is going to be the battleground. It doesn’t matter if the US has forces deployed there or not.

tl;dr Give Pyongyang what it wants everytime.

“I am unable to read. How the hell am I even using a computer?!”

As a Romanian, knowing this stuff locally, well done, Gary! Good article, properly informed and the Romanian spelling/writing is always a nice touch.

This is SO much better written than anything else that has come out of FA since Tyler left. Thank you.

Will you be writing more items like this? There is a certain someone who would have turned this into a political rant, but this is much more informative and enjoyable. Good work!

Not to mention that the 195 F-22s replaces the numbers (159 C, 33D, 192 combined) that they’re talking about retiring, so it’s not like we’re unprepared with air supremacy fighters.

Affluent city dwellers and entrepreneurs will be needed to rebuild a city that was once beautiful. They will create jobs and help restart the economy. The UN and the gov’t is already providing emergency relief. Despite what you might think, nobody is dying of hunger in Syria. Using private capital to fund the war is
